Affiliate XFactor…A Case Study In Viral Marketing

Andrew Fox is launching a new product in three weeks called Affiliate XFactor. I have picked this product to show you an excellent example of viral marketing campaign. The launch is 3 weeks out and he has already begun his campaign. He is givng away a free report. This is nothing new or special except for one little important factor.

He is paying $1.00 for every referral and $.50 on every second tier referral. That means that everyone you get to sign up for the free report will earn you a dollar and everyone they sign up will earn you fifty cents. Not only that, when the product launches, you will earn a 50% commission when any of these referrals buys the product.

Do you see the strategy here? Andrew has added a monetary incentive for people to spread the word about his upcoming product and is creating an army of affiliates prior to launch. The money he is paying per lead is nothing compared to the money he will earn once Affiliate XFactor goes live.

He also has a sign up form on the squeeze page so he is building his list at the same time. There is a general consensus among marketers that a list subscriber is easily worth $1 or more. So, the dollar that he is paying per lead is insignificant compared to the results he will receive. Keep in mind that he is not doing any of the work. I have received tons of emails already from other marketers promoting Affiliate XFactor and Google is already full of results for the product name.

This is only after one day. I would say that this campaign is already a huge success only 2 days into the prelaunch. Andrew is not stopping there. He plans to give out even more free content before launch which will only further fuel the fire. The trick behind a successful product launch is to build your prospects into a buying frenzy. When launch day comes, you want them to be chomping at the bit to purchase your product.

I am going to predict that Andrew has a very successful product launch just based on what I have seen so far. In the meantime, you can go get the free report, your affiliate link, and make some easy cash buy helping him promote.
